Bridge Campaign Volunteer Receives Sovereign’s Medal

In a November 9 ceremony at Government House in Edmonton, Larry Wilkins, The Bridge Campaign’s lead donor and Honorary Campaign Chair, received the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteering for his tireless work on the Bridge Campaign to build Mamawi Atosketan Junior and Senior High School.

“Larry provided the practical vision and enthusiasm required to sustain an ambitious multi-year project,” wrote one campaign member in support of Larry’s nomination. “As a First Nations businessman, he saw the potential and recognized the barriers that MANS students would have to overcome.” Larry’s leadership gift was accompanied by many hours of volunteering and contributions to monthly meetings over a four-year period.

Because of his charismatic, tireless and self-sacrificing leadership,” the letter in support continued, campaign staff were energized and inspired to meet every marker of progress and every deadline. No one wants to let Larry down.”
